Offseason Finally Here: Why I’m Happy

November 5th, 2009 | by jrussell |

Now that we can finally close the books on the baseball season, I thought I would put together a list of 10 things I am happy about from the world series and more.
1. I’m happy that ESPN will STOP talking about baseball and the Yankees
2. I’m happy that I won’t have to see Mariano Rivera’s pores up close in HD anymore
3. I’m happy for Nick Swisher…seriously
4. I’m happy that Pedro Martinez choked
5. I’m happy that I can now focus my full attention on football, basketball and hockey
6. I’m happy that CC Sabathia is still a Warriors fan
7. I’m happy that the series didn’t drag on to 7 games
8. I’m happy that we can finally move onto the offseason, free agency, etc.
9. I’m happy that this brings more light to the fact that Major League Baseball NEEDS a salary cap (hello, the Yankees have a $208M payroll)
10. I’m happy to be a sports fan despite the lack of recent championships in the Bay Area
